Rosy Campanita is a Queer Mestiza born and raised in Chicago, mostly in the Pilsen and Little Village neighborhoods. She studied fine arts at S.A.I.C. and has been making documentaries and journalistic photography since 2003. Rosy mostly works in environmental, immigration, and issues in Indigenous and LGBT communities throughout so-called U.S. and Mexico territories. A Waterprotector, and land defender, Rosy has previously collaborated with the Peoples’ Media Project in Phoenix, Minute to Midnight Productions, and Caracol Arts Collective. Rosy is the Founder of Pochtekameh Creative Arts Studio and currently resides off-grid in the southeast part of the country.
